By using fisco.pt you accept these terms. They are short and written in plain language: please read them before making decisions based on our results.

The service

fisco.pt is a free, informational service of calculators and guides about tax and social security in Portugal. No account or payment is needed. We may change, add or remove features at any time without notice.

Not tax or legal advice

Results and guides are there to help you understand the rules. They are not tax, legal or financial advice and do not replace the Tax Authority (AT), Social Security, or a certified accountant or lawyer who knows your situation.

Results are estimates

We work hard to keep the calculations right and up to date — see our methodology. Even so, figures are estimates and may differ from what the AT or Social Security assess, for example because the law has changed, your situation has features the calculator does not cover, or the data entered is incomplete. Simulations for future years are based on bills that may change.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the data you enter and the decisions you make. Before filing a return, signing a contract or making a payment, check the figures with official sources or a professional. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its results.

Intellectual property

The texts, guides, design and code of fisco.pt are © fisco.pt unless stated otherwise. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link to the original page, but you may not copy the site, in whole or in substantial part, or republish its content without permission. Quoted legislation is in the public domain.

Links to other sites

We link to third-party sites such as the Portal das Finanças, Segurança Social Direta and the Diário da República. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy policies.

Advertising

fisco.pt is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are labelled as such and do not influence the calculations or the guides. An ad does not mean we endorse the product or service.

Privacy

Calculations run in your browser and the figures you enter are not sent to our servers. How we handle data and cookies is described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. The version in force is always the one on this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer, any dispute will be settled by the competent Portuguese courts.
